MISSION COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've done it!!!!!!
I have reached my target of 250,000 baht, thanks to the school, BIS Puxi Shanghai, who donated 7750 baht after I inspired everyone who attended the servICE conference with my presentaiton as a key note speaker infront of 160 delegates from 16 different international schools. In addition, I would like to thank everyone else who has bought lava cakes from me on the Friday bakesales which I have been doing at lunch times and break times. Without everyone's help this challenge wouldn't have been possible and I would never have been able to raise this much money for one special girl who doesn't have the same abilities as us but hopefully soon will. I thank you so much for making a change to someone's life even though you may not know her, and she may not know you, I know that she will be as grateful as I am.
Thank you so much.

Sign Language

I just found this set of photos of me with some other students from my school learning sign language at the Deaf School for our after school activity a few weeks ago. We will start going again next week. I'm looking forward to it because I want to see Yok again.

Please have a look.
I am working on a movie of the trip at the moment with my dad. I chose my favourite music for the soundtrack. I have to do the voiceover still. It might be ready tomorrow.
The total is close to B230,000 (£4,600) now so we nearly got what we aimed for. I think that's amazing. So thank you to everyone for supporting me through my challenge.

Day of Temples

Finally we made it! The challenge is complete. What an adventure.
We visited the temples today, Angkor Wat and Pra Thom, the temple that was in the movie Tomb Raider.
We cycled to the temples so we did even more kilometres! But it was really fun to see the temples. They seemed smaller than they do in the movie but they were still really big! The last time I went to see the temples I wasn't even 4 years old! It was really hot though so when we cycled back it was really hard. We had good fun taking photos on Mr Madden's camera. I will try to put them on the blog when I get a copy.
The lanes around the temples were pretty and shady but they were very bumpy. I'm glad that the roads that we cycled on were nice and smooth. There were so many tourists in Tuk Tuks along the way, but I was surprised at how many Koreans were there. One family in a Tuk Tuk waved at us and looked amazed to see tourists on bicycles.
We went through two of these gate ways that had wooden floors and broken ceilings.
We passed some other temples on the way but they weren't on our "To see list"!
It's a shame though because one of the temples we passed was being re-built, even with tourists there.
It wasn't being re-built by hand, like cement and shovel, it had cranes lifting things up on to the temples, some of the things didn't even look like they were there in the first place.
This is the temple that is featured in the movie "Tomb Raider" which is my favourite movie.
This tree isn't actually very ancient, it's just one of those kind of trees that grows really fast and doesn't need much soil to grow on top of.

This is another tree that has grown on top of the temple and has shot up into the sky.
This tree was a really big tree and felt really rough, not like ordinary trees though!
The trees were
TOTALLY WICKED!!!!!
Especially with their massive roots!
It was time to leave. The ride back to town seemed to take ages on the hot, bumpy roads that were getting on my nerves. But I was getting really hungry so was looking forward to getting back and having the lunch that I needed!
Time for some relaxing by the pool and catching up with my friends.
LOL!!!!!!
The ride started with rain on the first day and made my t-shirt really muddy, luckily on the second day we got to a hotel called Kantary Hotel in Kabin Buri. The hotel was a 5.7 star hotel and we stayed in a two bedroom sweet but there weren't enough beds for all of us so Mr Reardon slept on the sofa! We washed a lot of our clothes including my white shirt that turned out pretty clean. After that all of the days were all sunny apart from the last five minutes of the last day when it started to rain, my shirt got all muddy again.

Now that I have done 459 km including the journey to all of the temples. I feel really proud of myself for doing something as big as this. Some days it seemed easier than I thought it would be, but other days seemed harder. On the second day when I had a meltdown and I felt like I couldn't do any more because I felt exhausted and there was so much more to go. It was the hardest part of the trip and I got through it by thinking about how I cannot give up because I have started it now, Yok needs the money and Kurt Haan's saying, "There is more in you than you think".
My favourite part of this trip was when we got to stay in the 5.7 star hotel!!!!! My favourite part of the riding was when we were in a pelathon and were going at about 28 - 30 km/h.

Once again, Thank you to everyone who has donated money. I am very thankful to all of you for doing such a great thing.

Day 5

It was a big day today.
108 km!

The challenge is now over and done with, so no more cycling and no more numb bum cheeks!  Owch!  Except we will visit the temples on our bikes.

It was much easier than I thought it would be today. The heat wasn't so bad, but I think it helped that we had an hour stop for lunch when it was as hot as it can get. And we had a good plan to get it done stopping every 20 kms.

As we got closer to Siam Reap, we got more excited so the time went faster. We also gave out pencils to
children on the way which was fun.

Finally we made it to our hotel just as it started to rain. It felt awesome to finish. I can't believe I've done it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the temples. I was 4 years old the last time, so I can't really remember what they are like. I'll let you know tomorrow.

5000!

5000 pageviews! Thanks :-)

Day 4

Yes!
We have crossed the boarder and we are now in Cambodia!

The ride today was 59 km and completed it in 3 hours, 25 minutes of riding. We stopped a few times after we crossed the boarder and came out of the busy, littered city.

The heat was unbearable so the 59 km that we did do were really hard to do.
We meet two other cyclists on our last stop. They come from the US and have been doing this cycling tour for two months and have one month to go!
It's 108 km we have to ride tomorrow and we have to do it because there aren't any hotels along that road so last day, must do it.

Kurt Hahn...
'THERE IS MORE IN YOU THAN YOU THINK'.

Day 3

We left the 5.7 star hotel at 9:30am this morning and started our 68km ride.
At first I was finding it a bit hard because of the heat, we were going 20 to 23 km per hour. We stopped at a 7eleven petrol station place and I had a meltdown after 20 km and we had 48 km to go. We had another break at this temple with these really spooky statues and a big buddha's head then decide to go to the next petrol station because we were spooked out by the horrific statues. They all thought that I could get to the boarder today and told me that if we did 68 km today, we would have to do 90 something km tomorow. No thanks! We rode for an hour stopped for 15 minutes, rode for another hour and arrived at our hotel, (Indochina Hotel) and ended up finishing it in 2 hours, 2 minutes, we did 97.7 km! We really went for it after that and we did 28 to 30 km an hour in a pelethon literaly cm apart from each others wheels, saw no dead dogs, tons of snakes, arrived and got into the pool just as the sun started to set at 6:30pm! Yes!

Day 2

Day 2,
Yuppy! There wasn't any rain which made our day excellent! We got a bit burnt but luckily we were wearing our arm socks! All of us have burnt faces and tan lines on our legs and arms especially Mr Reardon who is super red!

The route was pretty much flat but when it came to hills I overtook everyone and shot down the other side really fast!

I gave out 6 pencils today, one to a girl at 7eleven, another two to some twin boys also at 7eleven, a fourth one to a boy at cafe amazon! the fifth to another boy at a petrol station and the last to the girl in the picture down below which bench broke just after we crossed the road to continue our cycle for the day.
After a while we got to a flood which was about 500 metres long so we all hitched a lift pretty easily but my dad drove through it and we all thpught he was a bit ceazy! Mr Spear fell over aswell which was quite funny to see.
Soon after we arived at this 5.7 star hotel, got a room on the 11'th floor and then went for a dip in the pool and the jacuzy, it was so lush! Our room is 2 bed room sweet and the showers are amazing!
It's 91 km to the boarder now and I wonder if we can get there tomorow which would mean that we would have arrived one day earlier, do you think I can do it?

4000!

4000 views!
How amazing.
Thanks for all your support. :-)

Day 1

The Challenge has begun!
Today we started the challenge and
we rode 80 km in about 4 hours riding only and 5 & 1/2 hours including rests. When I started the ride I felt nervous but then I started to feel like I was still just training, I now feel normal. I saw a really big monitor lizard down in one of the ditches we past. The weather was terrible, rain, puddles which made my new white shirt all black and made all of us cold. We almost got
killed by a HGV that did a jack-knife but luckily it wasn't a major one so we survived. Mr Fairlie found us just as we were coming out of Ayutthaya. We didn't have a very long lunch break but we managed to have some sausages, crisps and a drink and then we stopped at a market on the side of the road, got some cucumber and chiken and

waited for Mr Fairlie to catch up with us because he got a flat tire. I can't believe I did 80km in one day! It's so amazing! I'm looking forward to tomorows cycle ride which is meant to be 65 km but will probably turn out to be 80 km again!
